Where to sit in a movie theatre to get the best view to watch AVATAR in 3D.

I went to see AVATAR this weekend. After watching the movie the only one word which came out of my mouth and that was "AWESOME" but I think looking at the story, 3D effects, visuals, action sequences I should change the word awesome is spelled to "AWESUM".

The movie has everything that a true entertainer movie with a message should have. It is yet another James Cameron's masterpiece I think it is equal to or a little more awe inspiring than TITANIC. I am damn sure it will break the $1 billion mark by ticket sales in the coming 2 months or so. Before going to the movie I read that come critics have criticized the story as not that good as it should be, but this all these are TRUE LIES, the story is as good as the movie and I am going to see it again on Christmas Day. The story is the main reason that all the 3D seems sensible to me. It has all the reasons both scientific and moral that justifies each and every drama sequence in this epic. So go my friends and take all your family members and friends with you as this the best ever 3D movie to be watched.

I would like you to tell that I sat in the 2nd row to the screen while watching the movie and it was truly the worthy place to be seated. Some of my friends who sat in the last row or in the middle of the theater were not able to feel the bushes, the guns blowing and many more wonderful scenes as we people who were sitting in the first 3 rows to the screen. So people take the seat in the first 3 rows from the screen only and preferably the middle ones in those rows to get the best possible feel and excitement of watching AVATAR in 3D and ENJOY.

Talent Recession: It's Meaning, Cause, and Remedy

Talent Recession, its a new combination of words :) but it is creating and will create major problems in India's progress in the coming years. NASSCOM has many times brought this in focus, time and again. But the cry is falling on deaf years. There are few reasons behind it: Firstly the growing number of engineering colleges in India, like for example in Uttar Pradesh alone; their number has tripled since I did my bachelors in computer science and engineering in 2007. These colleges have sprung up like mushrooms in every medium and largely populated cities all around the nation. The problem is not the growing number of colleges; which could have been a good sign if they provided quality education. They are presently an earning model for their managements who just want to take their share of the soup as most of the Indian youth is crazy about getting just a degree rather than getting educated and then acknowledged by a degree. The problem is not with the students alone but with the parents also who want each and every kid of theirs to become an engineer or a doctor just like that of their neighbor's son or daughter. Its sounds sarcastic but first we have to deal with this problem.

The Government first has to put a check on these "mushrooming colleges" before giving approval, it has to check whether the college is willing to hire good professors, lecturers or they will recruit some fresher pass-outs to teach the upcoming batch of freshers :) The planning has to be verified thoroughly and inspections which are nowadays thing of past should be rejuvenated to put a check on these false practices. Then the students has to be a little more sensible, I advise you my friends that don't go to a college if it's past record is not good check with it's pass-outs or read about it on the internet then only make a decision to take admission anywhere. I don't want any of my young friends to be fooled by these people as YOU are the future and YOU have DREAMS. Thirdly please Indian parents stop looking upon your neighbor's son or daughter achievements, and moreover don't push your child also to do the same, study the same, achieve the same. YOUR child is unique, he has his own share of the world, his own set of goals, and his own dreams so let him achieve them instead of forcing your neighbor's kid's goals, dreams etc. Give YOUR kids space to create their own existence and mark upon life.

The second problem which is accelerating Talent Recession is the course that is being taught at the college level. It contains a lot of theory and a little chunk of it has practicals. Rather the scenario should be vice-versa. If we consider a computer engineer who has studied a lots of theory, formulas, algorithms etc but does not know how to program a single into an executable code, its just waste of time, money and talent. So its high time that the courses has to be made more professional with more emphasis on practical problem solving skills and abilities. Due to this problem whatever talent is being generated in our country, is not at all able to withstand the professionalism required in the industry. The companies mostly end up with fewer number of recruits then required in large campus interviews, and walk-ins.

The third and the final problem that is promoting Talent Recession is "The Brain Drain". This is a serious problem as what ever talent pool we develop does not stays in the country due to the fewer number of top notch facilities available for them in the research fields. We have a handful of universities or institutions that support high tech research in India, so students who want to study further and do some quality research either don't get admission into these reputed places or they end up in fighting with too much of competition for limited number of seats available. Moreover Indian research labs still lack behind in every aspect like instrumentation facilities available, industrial exposure, funding, professionalism etc from their counterparts in the Western or now even Eastern parts of the world. The work culture has a vast difference in the labs here and abroad. I have myself personally seen how professors play politics in some top notch institutions here to get the favor from the Government or to get more influential position. The need is that either the students or those who know the truth about these problems need to come out of their shell and take necessary steps to stop all this.

Students should write to the Government's concerned authority personally or collectively to improve the conditions, get more research instruments, complain about the wrong doings of the staff etc. If these all steps are not taken again and again till the result is seen, we cannot prevent Brain Drain or better the educational system & facilities.

These were the problems due to which we are witnessing the problem of Talent Recession. Moreover we will sense it even more if nothing is done to prevent it. The need of the hour is not to just read this column and others like this and go back to work, sleep or read another one but to realize the effects this problem can bring to us if we remain so ignorant. It could be any body's child, brother, sister, even yours or even YOU who can suffer due to this. Unemployment, economic breakdown, dependency, global deficits and even recession are in some way or other related to this, may be not wholly, but still this problem accounts their impact, rise and also their fall. So rise up people and take some solid steps and help India progress faster, stronger and better....and make World a peaceful and secure place to live in....

Post recession problems.

Now finally global recession is coming to an end gradually, the progress is slow but it is there for sure. New problems are being faced by companies. The acts that helped them supposedly survive in recession now are creating problems for them. One of such problem is unavailability of sufficient talent to do the growing amount of work. Now the companies are on a hiring spree if not everywhere in the world but at least in India. This is proving to be a mind game. Companies who did not fire their employees during recession are looking down and smiling upon those who did just the opposite. Companies who felt that the extra bench strength or work force can be a burden and a wastage of a large amount of money in salaries are now realizing their mistakes. The companies I should say which were loyal to their employees not only helped themselves to retain their qualified talent pool but also made them feel happy by not not firing them at the time of economical crisis. This instilled the trust of the respective employees in the company that has and will surely benefit the companies in future too. This showed great management skill I would like to say it Trust Management :)

The effect is that the "loyal companies" (as I would personally like to quote them without showing any signs of rebellion or negative publicity towards any company surviving or bankrupt) :) have started getting new business deals and are coping to them very well. On the contrary the other companies who were not so loyal or in other words were more "Strategic :)" are having their attention a bit diverted first in trying to compete to get more business deals and secondly for hiring talent pool. These both jobs are proving to be very problematic to them now as all the talented people they fired joined elsewhere with competitive salaries and now these companies has to pay more to get them. Moreover the companies who did not fire their employees earlier has given them increment so more cutthroat condition has been created. As of now the new business is coming knocking the door so lets see how the "Strategic :)" companies cope with all this.

The moral of the story is that if we want our employees to be loyal to us and wants us to perform to meet our goals and stand for the company whenever required. Companies shall also do the same to them. The hiring shall be done to keep in mind the risk both to the company and to the employee. Lay-offs are not a sign of excellent way to get rid of recession woes but a big hole in the strategy and planning of the managements. So I hope my words will not go in vain companies will become more sensible before asking a loyal, hard working employee to leave.

Thanks for your valuable time :)

We shall now develop technology ourselves! Enough of BPOs!

We shall now develop technology ourselves, instead of just creating applications using them! Enough of BPOs!

The IT revolution that we have witnessed in the last ten years was because we learned the various technologies and created applications using them for varied fields. The need for software at all levels using the latest in the technology was fulfilled by it.

The revolution showed us the rise of Indian IT giants like Infosys, Wipro, TCS etc. But now the saturation has come we have so many engineers that can work on different programming languages and tools but we don't have more than a handful who can actually develop a programming language or develop a tool.

What engineers nowadays do is master a couple of programming languages and try to get job somewhere and do the low end IT programming. The high end the real techie stuff is the core development of the technology from the scratch. Teachers in colleges also focus on how better an engineering student can write code on a programming language or application platform already developed, instead of encouraging them to develop their own platforms or technology.

I recently had long discussions with few highly experienced IT friends of mine who are based at all the IT development headquarters of India i.e. Bangalore, Gurgaon, Noida, Chandigarh, Mumbai and Pune. They all were convinced to this point that, we now in India need Technology Developers not Application Developers. The good points that we concluded were that if we have a significant number of Technology Development initiatives in India we would not create something unique and useful but it would help also help us to keep the technology in our hands and then give it to people to develop applications out of it. This would help us generate even more revenue and much bigger and technologically sound companies will have a long lasting profitable future.

The second thing will be that we will have the control over whole of the IT supply and demand cycle we will only be the manufacturer and we will only be the applications developers so double revenue generating opportunities, isn't that Good! Then we can have more international clientele on our lists than ever before!

Third is that our nation will come with more research papers and we will then not lag behind in the technology development race.

Fourth is that we can achieve ours and our ex-president Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam's dream of making India a self dependent Superpower sooner!

So my friends please give this idea of mine a thought and think which way is better for you and all i.e. being an App Developer or a Technology Developer!

Help "You"rselves to create history once more, to start the revolution once more, to mark the new beginning once more!

How to talk real and motivate your team in "Recession"

In order to motivate teams the respective team leaders tends to show dreams to their fellow members. They give false hopes of increment, promotion or foreign business trip but it backfires badly sometimes if the respective company's top managers are not "That Appreciative" :)

If the members work just as they were expected to and, then if they don't receive what they were made to dream of! They get really pissed of and loses any kind of loyalty towards the company and sincerity in their work. They feel they were being cheated and so at this point in time its very difficult to gain them back on your side. So be careful before making employees or team members dream!

The right approach is to tell them about the reality, and tell them when the good times return i.e. "post-recession" their present day stand with the company and the understanding they showed now, will surely be appreciated. This will make the employees and team members feel motivated and a bit more loyal towards the company. They will feel that a responsibility is on them, to row the ship out of the whirlpool now but later it is sure they will land on a blissful island!

So I would advice all my friends to be true, show reality and stand together to come out of this whirlpool i.e. "Recession". The economic slowdown is slowing down a bit. Inflation has fallen to beat 32 years record, companies are gaining in terms of profits again, BSE also showed a bit of smooth rally in the last couple of months, so the good signs are coming guys!

I am pretty confident that if India will progress like; it has progressed in the past and is progressing now, we will be even less effected by these kinds of whirlpools in future if they come again....

But the need of the hour is to make our Great Nation Stronger but remember always my friends that a Nation becomes Great only when its citizens act Great and are Great ! I do not doubt on any one of you, as "You" are the future my friends! So, be brave, be sincere & always stand with the truth because that can help us develop a responsible, stronger nation and a peaceful, better world to live in & prosper!

Indian Youth Mindset is changing gradually!

In the last blog post I urged Indian Youth to think beyond the contemporary career options and instead start their own business to create jobs for fellow Indian youths. Instead of us being depending on MNCs start our own multinationals.

So the good is news is that some of my friends has actually started planning too, to start their own companies, they are aggressively into the business planning and pre-launch stages. Sunny is working on his plan to start micro-irrigation & carbon credits business, Varun is thinking to start his online gaming portal, Akshat wants to start his coaching institute for engineering students, Shailender is an activist in Samajwadi party & his aim is to be a politician, and Anshul wishes that his prosthetics & artificial limbs company shall start soon.

Is'nt it so cool my friends! they all are trying to do something that will someday help build our nation stronger and self dependent with lesser unemployment. "YOU" also rise and as still there is so much space and areas for our nation to grow in, try and do something to bring a new revolution in the nation. BEST OF LUCK TO "YOU" ALL!!!

Indian youth should think and go beyond the contemporary career options!

Everybody knows that why USA is the superpower and why now China is speedily heading towards becoming one!

The reason for this is that the youth in these nations were and are more enthusiastic, they are more ambitious and they are more determined than us.

What the majority of our Indian youth do after getting a professional degree or education, is to go and try for a job. Then once we get it we do not think of any other thing than normal life. We just flow with the daily routine and work, and in the process we also get promotions and salary increments etc. We become satisfied and thus lacks the capability to think big or achieve even better than what we are getting.

This is the point that makes us different from the youth of the other two nations I have talked about. Their the youth thinks beyond the contemporary and try to take risks. They try to start their own company or business at some point in time, some try to do it soon after graduation some after getting some experience but in India it is not so. The majority of the people here just do not think about it also. They feel unconfident they think that they don't have money or the resources or the team and so many other negative things they think about rather than finding solutions or remedies to find a way out of them!

If the Indian youth would have thought or acted in a different way, then in India the youth which is now so worried about jobs scarcity due to recession would not have bothered about it. They instead would have been creating jobs for others! I don't understand why people always thinks that if they get job in a MNC then its good rather teaching kids in private tutions is not cool! Let me take this example only, my friends I myself taught children of class/grade 4th to 12th and in the process I used to earn a handsome 15000 Indian Rupees a month. I used to enjoy explaining scientific fundamentals and trying out scientific experiments with them. Now if I would not have been interested in Nanotechnology or would not have thought of starting my own business with a better idea then this one then I would have definitely opened my coaching institute. At least I would have helped to better the Indian primary education by it.

I would like to advise my fellow Indian youth brigade to think and become innovative, try to stand out from the ordinary crowd, try to create some space for yourself, and try to start your own thing. This will not only give you the confidence that you are doing what you are best at or what you wished doing all life. But also it will make our nation stronger and one day a superpower. No nation becomes great my friends unless the people living in it acts Great!

So my friends if any one of you has some awesome idea which you think has the spark to ignite the Revolution take it out, make a business plan out of it, approach venture capitalists, and Government, give your best efforts to make it into a reality. I would also like to request any parent who is reading this blog to please try and give your son/daughter a chance to prove themselves, have trust on them and support them, after all who would not like to be remembered as a father or a mother of tomorrow's Dhirubhai, Bill Gates or Walt Disney!

So GO FOR IT FRIENDS !!! Mark the Beginning of a new stronger You, India and the World!

Some queries you might have about my blog...

The first query to a person who visits my blog would be => whats this INNEA?

The answer is that as I am very obsessed by innovative technologies and related stuff. I thought of putting the name of my blog as the combination of these two word's prefix and suffix: INNovation and idEA, so like this it came INN (of innovation) + EA (of idea) = INNEA

The second question might come to any watchful reader would be that why this guy stopped writing after April, 2008.

The reason was that I was busy in stabilizing my career and was working hard for the company I am working in right now i.e. YashNanotech Ltd, plus I was trying to materialize some of my own plans. That was the reason my blog writings got hung up for a year! But now it will not happen as now I will keep writing them whenever something interesting happens or when I am in mood to write....

If any other queries are there please ask me. I would love to reply to them.

Do not just talk! Do it and then talk!

I, everyday meet and see so many people around me who just talk so much about what they want to do, but they either don't take the required serious efforts to do it or they just waste ours and theirs time in just idle talks....

I have seen so many managers and researchers who love just talking about what they want to do like a new product or a new project but instead of taking real initiatives they somehow think that it will be done by their juniors or subordinates. They tell that do it or you are in trouble or your life is in trouble or its a matter of life and death for you all sorts of foolish phrases they use haha! On the other hand when the poor junior fellow tries to do something about it. Even a single mistake in the try is treated as a huge blunder or the guy has done some scam of trillions of dollars :)

So I would like to advise all the wannabe managers/researchers/team leaders to lead the front and indulge creatively in the development process along with others in the team, rather than sitting and discussing, wasting time in meetings over the same topics/problems for months. Doing and then discussing helps a lot more than to just talk and do meetings about doing something i.e. nothing.

Take the charge, do, help and motivate; these things can only help in any project rather than finding mistakes in others, wasting time in meetings and just pressurizing others to do the work, which you were entitled to do! Team spirit and mutual respect only has helped great people to do great things a single man can do nothing alone! If anybody has doubt on me I would advise him/her to go and read about Bill Gates, Paul Allen and Steve Ballmer, read about Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak, read about Sergey Brin and Larry Page, Warren Buffet and Charles Munger, Narayan Murthy and Nandan Nilekani, there are lots of other great men too. So please be cooperative, build team morale and, then see how the wonders happen !!!

Bad practices for a Software Test Engineer

People mostly talk about the good and the best practices but it is also important to know the worst or the bad practices which a Software ...
